Daichi Shiratori is an esper and the older twin brother of Kaito Shiratori. Both were children invited to the Awakening Lab. His round face, framed by glasses, typically carries a dull expression. As the elder twin, Daichi initially needed his brother to manifest psychic powers, as their abilities were shared. Their primary power is telepathy and mind-reading, which initially functioned only as a perfect mental link between the two. Under Teruki Hanazawa's tutelage, they honed this ability to detect lies in others' minds, though their skill remained limited to this function. Daichi later grew powerful enough to operate independently, no longer requiring his twin.

During the World Domination Arc, Daichi and Kaito combined their power to scan Terada's mind. They also used their telepathy to evade the Claw esper Shimazaki. In the Telepathy Club Mini-Arc, Shigeo Kageyama recruited them to aid Tome Kurata's search for aliens, inadvertently exposing Momozo Takenaka as a telepath. Daichi witnessed the emergence of ???% and the resulting destruction of the city alongside other Awakening Lab members.

In the Epilogue, Daichi attended Reigen Arataka's birthday party, maintaining ties to the wider group of espers and associates from past events.
