During a Tomodachi Game trial, he faces accusations of murdering his father, attempting to sexually assault Shiho, and impregnating a classmate’s sister. These allegations, later proven fabricated through manipulated testimonies by the game's administrators to test loyalties, compound his struggles. Financially, he inherits his father's massive debt of approximately 500 million yen, forcing his continued participation in the Tomodachi Game. Makoto's character shifts significantly upon learning that fellow game participant and friend Yuuichi Katagiri indirectly enabled his father's corruption. This revelation, combined with his crushing debt and sense of betrayal, drives him to ally with Yutori Kokorogi and Shinji Shiba against Yuuichi in the game's later stages.
