Description
Kashō Minazuki comes from a long line of traditional Japanese confectioners. Under the strict guidance of his father, he was compelled to forgo a social life and personal hobbies to dedicate himself to the family's wagashi craft. Feeling stifled, he ran away from home to study abroad in France. There, a visit to a Western patisserie inspired him; seeing how the pastries brought smiles to people’s faces, he became an apprentice and grew fascinated with Western baking.

After returning home, he attempted to persuade his father to accept his new path, but his father refused, resulting in their estrangement. Kashō continued honing his skills in secret while saving money for his own shop. About six months before opening, he and his younger sister Shigure discovered two orphaned catgirls, Chocola and Vanilla, abandoned in a box in the rain. They took them in, and Kashō’s care helped the initially shy kittens adapt.

Without informing anyone but Shigure—who was aware of his plans but not the timing—Kashō moved to the city to open his patisserie, La Soleil. While unpacking, he found Chocola and Vanilla had hidden in his boxes. Though he initially tried to return them, their pleas changed his mind, and he let them stay. He allowed them to work at La Soleil once they obtained legal employment permits, known as "Independent Action Permits" or "Bells," by passing exams proving they could control their feline instincts.

Kashō is easy-going and kind, often listening when the catgirls feel insecure or sad and doing whatever he can to help—a habit some call "nosy." He is notably dense, frequently missing subtle hints and requiring direct communication, which sometimes leads to awkwardness. Independent and proud of his baking, he constantly seeks new ideas and techniques. His driving motivation is to see people smile, a contrast to his family’s traditional approach.

He has a well-built physique, brown hair with bangs framing the sides of his face, and wears a white buttoned shirt over a neko-themed shirt with black jeans. At work, he dons a chef’s uniform.

As La Soleil grew, Shigure and four other family catgirls—Azuki, Maple, Cinnamon, and Coconut—joined the staff. Kashō navigated challenges such as mending the strained relationship between Azuki and Coconut and supporting Maple’s singing ambitions. During Christmas, he reflected deeply on the meaning of baking to honor his mentor and win his father’s approval, eventually reconciling with him.

Over time, his relationship with the catgirls shifted. Initially paternal toward Chocola and Vanilla, he later found it harder to ignore their developing femininity, leading to moments of romantic tension. Other catgirls, including Coconut and Azuki, also developed feelings for him. Catgirls do not mind polygamous relationships provided care is equal. Shigure, his sister, appears to harbor incestuous romantic feelings, though Kashō casually deflects her advances.

During a summer trip to Hawaii, the progression of his relationship with Shigure and a rivalry with another character named Fraise were explored. Throughout these experiences, Kashō remained dedicated to his craft and to caring for the catgirls, fostering a harmonious environment at La Soleil, which became known as a "Neko Paradise."
