Description
Ronye Arabel is a low-ranking noble from the Norlangarth North Empire in Underworld, born into a sixth-class noble family. She enrolled in the Sword Mastery Academy in North Centoria to advance her family's status. Despite achieving a top-twelve ranking among her peers—a position that usually allows elite swordsmen to select valets—neither Ronye nor her friend Tiese Shtolienen were chosen by higher-ranked nobles due to their low social standing. As a result, both were assigned as valets to Kirito and Eugeo by default.

Early in her academy tenure, Ronye and Tiese suffered harassment from nobles Raios Antinous and Humbert Zizek. The pair exploited a loophole in the Taboo Index to justify physically assaulting them as "punishment" for perceived disrespect. Kirito and Eugeo intervened, breaking Underworld's laws to rescue the girls, leading to their arrest. This event left Ronye carrying deep guilt, believing her and Tiese’s actions indirectly contributed to Eugeo’s death and Kirito’s subsequent catatonic state.

When the Dark Territory invaded the Human Empire, Ronye volunteered for the Human Guardian Army’s supply unit. She later fought on the front lines, demonstrating resilience despite her past trauma. Her resolve strengthened significantly during this time, especially upon learning of Kirito’s condition from Integrity Knight Alice Synthesis Thirty and caring for him.

After the war, Ronye and Tiese were appointed as Integrity Knight apprentices. In this role, Ronye acquired the Moonbeam Sword, a Divine Object capable of emitting luminous elements for combat and healing. She raised a yellow dragon named Tsukigake, reflecting her new responsibilities. The Moon Cradle arc showcased her investigative skills, including solving a kidnapping case in Obsidia and uncovering sacred-arts-based crimes. She also navigated unrequited feelings for Kirito, eventually accepting his marriage to Asuna while maintaining a respectful friendship with both.

Ronye participated in suppressing a rebellion by the Four Empires’ leaders against the Human Unification Council, confronting the Emperor of Norlangarth alongside Tiese. Centuries later, during the Unital Ring incident, she and Tiese entered suspended animation for fifty years to accompany Selka. Upon awakening, they aided their descendants, Laurennei Arabel and Stica Shtolienen, against new threats. Ronye’s legacy endured through her family line, with descendants like Stica becoming renowned Integrity Pilots who inherited her sense of duty and emotional connection to past heroes like Eugeo.
