Description
**Makina Markut (or Makina Malkuth)**, a 16-year-old witch born into nobility, trains in London. Sources vary on the training's purpose: one cites preparation to become a proper bride, another specifies year-long witch training. Desiring an ordinary human life, Makina seeks to abandon her magic. She requests disposal of her grimoire, the book embodying her magical power, from the duo Shout and Crunch. Known as "midnight dumpsters" or "garbage abandoners," they specialize in discarding difficult items, but the grimoire proves exceptionally challenging.

The narrative follows Makina's journey with Shout and Crunch as they attempt to discard the book. Shout provides support fueled by a rigorous samurai spirit and expertise in machine modification, while the silent, gentle hacker Crunch handles their system programming. During these efforts, Makina gradually confronts the reality that her magic is an intrinsic part of her identity, fundamentally shaped by her birth and upbringing. Her wish to discard this power symbolizes a broader struggle: rejecting one's origins or cultural heritage, often driven by fear of isolation or a desire to conform.

Makina's development centers on this internal conflict. Initially focused on abandoning magic to achieve normality, she evolves toward self-acceptance. She comes to recognize her magical nature as a fundamental element of her individuality, not a burden. This progression highlights embracing one's inherent traits while acknowledging the diversity of others.
