Description
Sōgo Osaka, a 20-year-old member of IDOLiSH7 and its subunit MEZZO alongside Tamaki Yotsuba, serves as the group's all-rounder, proficient in singing and dancing. His music symbol is mezzo forte, representing the number five. Raised in a strict household emphasizing hierarchy, he learned to suppress his own desires and emotions to avoid trouble, a tendency partly stemming from his uncle's death and a fear of abandonment. He joined Takanashi Productions after Otoharu Takanashi persuaded him to choose his own path, straining his family ties.

He presents as gentle, mild-mannered, and selfless, prioritizing others' needs. Yet, he possesses a hidden intensity and becomes formidable when angered. He struggles to express negative emotions or difficulties, fearing they burden the group, and frequently seeks advice from older members like Yamato Nikaido, whom he views as reliable. Group dynamics often position him as a maternal counterpart to Yamato's paternal role.

Before becoming an idol, he attended university. He harbors a strong passion for diverse music genres, including traditional, western, classical, jazz, rock, and world music, and secretly played guitar in a friend's band despite family disapproval. He has a high tolerance for spicy and bitter foods like chili con carne, green curry, jerk chicken, and tom yam kung, citing enjoyment in the "tongue pain" from spices, but dislikes overly sweet snacks. He was slightly anemic in the past.

An indoor person, he spends free time on housework, walking while listening to music, and visiting record shops. He collects merchandise from rival group TRIGGER, constructing a display altar with Mitsuki Izumi's guidance, and acknowledges poor drawing skills. He runs regularly with Tamaki to build stamina.

Relationships define him. Within MEZZO, he shares a close bond with Tamaki, designing Tamaki's signature and attempting affectionate nicknames like "Taa-kun," which sometimes cause comical mishaps; he provides patient support for Tamaki's emotional nature. He develops a routine with Riku Nanase involving conversations, shopping, housework help, and repeated TRIGGER DVD viewings. At Nagi Rokuya's joking request for ghost stories, he took the task seriously, visiting nightly to read from "100 Ghost Stories," inadvertently causing Nagi prolonged distress due to superstition about stopping prematurely. He deeply respects Yamato, seeking his counsel first and sharing his first drinking experience with him and Mitsuki. He maintains a quiet determination, often pushing himself harder despite not always being in the spotlight.
