TV-Series
Description
Mary Sue, also known as Mary Sioux, is a main antagonist in the series. She is the only daughter of Anson Sue and his wife. Originally from the Legadonia Alliance, she fled to the Unified States with her mother before the Alliance fell to the Empire. After her father was killed in combat by Tanya Degurechaff, Mary enlisted in the United States Army as a volunteer mage officer, driven by a fierce desire for revenge.

In personality, Mary is portrayed as a devout, kind-hearted, and family-oriented girl whose gentleness is twisted by grief into an all-consuming hatred for Tanya. Unlike Tanya's cold, calculating efficiency, Mary is emotional, reckless, and chaotic. She acts on impulse rather than strategy, often disobeying orders when her rage overwhelms her. This instability makes her both a dangerous force and a liability to her own side.

Her primary motivation is to avenge her father and destroy Tanya Degurechaff, whom she holds directly responsible. This obsession is fueled and manipulated by the entity known as Being X, who uses Mary as a tool to counterbalance Tanya in the war. Mary's fervent faith contrasts with Tanya's atheism, making their conflict not just personal but ideological.

Mary's role in the story is that of Tanya's ultimate rival and the embodiment of the consequences of the Empire's brutality. She serves as a direct threat to Tanya's survival and a narrative counterpoint to Tanya's pragmatic worldview. In the film, she is a key figure in the Allied forces during the campaign against the Empire on the Russy Federation front.

Key relationships include her adversarial dynamic with Tanya, which is intensely personal and mutually destructive. She serves under Lieutenant Colonel William Drake, who attempts to control her but is repeatedly defied due to her single-minded focus. Being X is a behind-the-scenes influence, granting her power and driving her hatred.

In terms of development, Mary begins as a grieving daughter who volunteers for military service, transforms into a rage-fueled warrior, and ultimately becomes more unstable as her powers grow. In the original web novel, her reckless behavior leads to fatal friendly-fire incidents, and she is eventually executed by her own former allies led by Drake.

Notable abilities include abnormally massive magical power, far exceeding that of typical mages. This power allows her to survive extreme punishment—such as multiple gunshot wounds and severe injuries—and to engage Tanya in prolonged aerial combat. Her magical output is heightened by her emotional state and the influence of Being X, making her an unpredictable and formidable opponent. She is also trained as a mage and carries a submachine gun in battle, though her primary strength lies in raw magical force rather than tactical skill.
