TV-Series
Description
Munehisa Iwai runs Untouchable, an airsoft shop on Shibuya's Central Street, supplying weapons and gear to the Phantom Thieves. He maintains a gruff exterior, often seen with a lollipop and sporting a gecko tattoo on his neck, signaling past underworld connections. Rumors of a yakuza history align with his guarded nature about his past and deep distrust of law enforcement.

Born to a single mother living destructively, the lack of stable family ties led him into the yakuza during his youth. There, he formed a sworn brotherhood with Tsuda of the Hashiba clan. His life changed when a woman tried to sell him her infant son for drug money. Refusing the transaction, he later found the infant abandoned. Iwai adopted the boy, naming him Kaoru, and left the yakuza to raise him safely. To shield Kaoru from his past, Iwai fabricated a story about the child's biological parents dying in a car crash, presenting himself as a family friend turned guardian.

He established Untouchable as a legitimate front while discreetly modifying real firearms disguised as airsoft models. His initial contact with the protagonist involves a realistic model gun deal. He offers access to a "special menu" of weaponry in exchange for help with tasks like smuggling goods or destroying evidence. Advancing their relationship forces a confrontation with Iwai's unresolved yakuza ties. Tsuda, pressured by Hong Kong gangsters after a failed deal, blackmails Iwai into customizing illegal firearms by threatening to expose his past to Kaoru.

The situation escalates when Tsuda's subordinate, Masa, kidnaps Kaoru to force Iwai's compliance. During the confrontation, Iwai reveals the truth about his yakuza past and Kaoru's adoption to his son. This honesty, combined with Tsuda's intervention after the Phantom Thieves change his heart, resolves the crisis. Tsuda cancels the weapon order, and Masa is apprehended. Iwai deduces the protagonist's affiliation with the Phantom Thieves but continues supplying them, recognizing their mission to help others. He solidifies his bond with Kaoru, receiving a Gekko Pin symbolizing familial trust and protection.

Later, after the protagonist's imprisonment, Iwai uses his yakuza connections to ensure their safety in detention. His shop appears temporarily closed during *Persona 5 Strikers*, a sign indicating a prolonged absence.

In *Persona 5: The Phantom X*, Iwai interacts with a new group of Phantom Thieves, initially questioning their motives when they browse his shop. After their protagonist explains their need to fight, he supplies them with weapons, including gifting a model gun to Motoha Arai. Untouchable subsequently serves as their recurring equipment source in that timeline.
