Gerhard Acktun is a German actor and voice artist, born on December 31, 1955, in Munich, Germany. He pursued his passion for performance at the Neue Münchner Schauspielschule, where he studied from 1973 to 1977. His connection to the entertainment industry began in his childhood, as his parents ran a snack bar frequented by actors, and he undertook his first theater tour in 1964.

Acktun has built an extensive career in both on-screen roles and voice acting. He is best known to German audiences as the long-standing German voice of Mauzi, the German name for the Pokémon character Meowth. He has voiced this character since the anime series began airing in Germany in 1997, a role that has continued across numerous films and series for over two decades. His work in the Pokémon franchise includes the movies Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, and Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, as well as the series Pokémon Journeys: The Series.

Beyond Pokémon, Acktun has contributed his voice to a wide range of other anime series. In Record of Ragnarok, he voices the god Hugin. He is also the German voice for several characters in the long-running series One Piece, including Sakazuki / Akainu in One Piece 3D2Y: Overcoming Ace's Death! Luffy's Pledge to His Friends and Franky (as Frandasher) in the main series. His other anime voice credits include roles in Sailor Moon, InuYasha, Monster Rancher, and Beyblade.

His voice work is not limited to anime. He was the first German voice of Mr. Smithers in The Simpsons and has voiced characters in Transformers, Spider-Man, and Power Rangers. Acktun has also lent his voice to numerous video games, such as the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series, Clive Barker's Jericho, and Unreal Tournament 3.

In addition to his voice acting and on-screen roles in German television series like Derrick, Der Alte, and SOKO 5113, Acktun founded the audiobook publishing house Alogino in 2008, which specializes in Bavarian-language audio plays.
