Description
Hototo, an 11-year-old Native American boy from a northeastern tribe, carries the weight of his father’s murder and his family’s displacement at the hands of a snake-tattooed outlaw—a trauma that fuels his relentless quest for vengeance. This pursuit propels him into a cross-country race, where his survival and navigation skills, honed through years traversing America’s wilderness, make him a vital guide through treacherous terrain. His striking appearance—dark green hair adorned with large feathers, piercing blue-lime eyes, and three turquoise facial markings—mirrors his resilient spirit. Traditional-inspired attire blends an orange tunic, caramel pants, and metal embellishments, complemented by gold hoop earrings and an animal skin draped across his shoulders.

Though initially consumed by rage, Hototo’s perspective shifts when witnessing the defeat of his father’s killer, prompting him to release his fury and embrace peace. Despite his youth, he exudes quiet maturity and fierce pride, defying those who dismiss him as a child. He forges an unlikely bond with older companions, proving indispensable with wilderness expertise and steady composure.

After the race, he chooses to journey onward with his newfound allies, directing race winnings to support his displaced family. His evolution from vengeance-driven isolation to valuing communal purpose is mirrored by a rescued prairie dog, which becomes the group’s mascot, embodying his newfound bonds.
