Description
Kaede Misawa, a high school student surviving the cataclysmic "Matter" virus outbreak that annihilated her hometown and family, was drafted into the government’s covert A.I.C.O. Project to develop a cure. Assigned to an elite team of Divers, she ventures into the quarantine zone—the "Burst"—to infiltrate its core, the Primary Point.

Her exceptional combat skills and physical prowess emphasize close-quarters engagements and swift preemptive strikes, driven by animalistic intuition rather than strategic planning. This contrasts sharply with her partner Haruka Seri’s analytical, science-rooted methods. Kaede’s direct, action-first communication sometimes borders on abrasiveness, reflecting her impatience with deliberation over urgent crises.

Burdened by survivor’s guilt from losing her family and community, she channels grief into relentless determination to cure the virus and aid its victims. Though marked by trauma, she balances resolve with empathy, prioritizing team unity and civilian safety during missions. Moments of fragility surface when facing echoes of her past or moral ambiguities within the A.I.C.O. Project’s objectives.

As a Diver, she excels in rapid reconnaissance and dismantling threats from synthetic Matter entities, showcasing adaptability under duress. However, her instinct-driven decisions occasionally clash with cautious teammates. Exposure to the Burst’s hidden truths and the project’s clandestine motives sharpens her grasp of the disaster’s origins, fueling her commitment to halt its spread—even as it challenges her understanding of sacrifice and survival.
