Description
Mangetsu Tsuburaya holds the title Fourth Generation Mangetsu Tsuburaya (四代目 円屋 萬月, Yondaime Tsuburaya Mangetsu) in the rakugo tradition. Hailing from Kyoto, he speaks with a distinctive Kansai dialect reflecting his origins. Before fully dedicating himself to rakugo, he attended medical school but received training limited to first-aid. His rakugo path was interrupted following his father's death, leading to a temporary cessation of performances before he resumed work as a storyteller. Within the rakugo community, he is a peer of Yotaro (later known as Sukeroku Yurakutei III), maintaining a collegial relationship and referring to him informally as "Yotaro-han." Mangetsu is characterized as an adult who wears glasses and is occasionally depicted smoking. He functions as a supporting figure in the narrative, contributing primarily through interactions with other rakugo performers and his presence within the story's broader cultural setting.
