Description
Kengō is a character from the anime Battle Spirits Double Drive, identifiable by his serious demeanor and distinctive appearance. He has black hair tied into a ponytail and pink markings beneath his eyes, often wearing a small white vest with black patterns over a black undershirt. As a battler aligned with the forces of darkness, he operates under the command of a figure named Tatsumi, who entrusts him with significant tasks.
True to his calm and collected nature, Kengō is both serious and confident in his abilities. He serves as an obstacle for the main protagonists, first appearing to challenge the users of the God-King cards. Tasked by Tatsumi with a mission to lure out the other God-Kings, Kengō comes into possession of a powerful white X-Rare card, The SheepTwelveGodKing Glorious-Sheep. He uses this card as bait, issuing a challenge at a location known as Dragon Head Rock. There, he is met by the red chosen hero, Shunta Mogami, in a battle that ultimately ends in Kengō's defeat, and the Glorious-Sheep card is taken from him.
Despite this loss, Kengō remains a trusted agent of the darkness faction. He is later called upon to test the strength of Kazuya Taiga, a battler brought from another world due to his deep-seated rage. During this match, Kengō's confidence manifests as taunting words, and he mocks Kazuya, echoing sentiments the younger battler had heard before from a rival. This psychological tactic backfires, as it only serves to enrage Kazuya, fueling his determination to win at all costs. Kengō is ultimately defeated in this battle as well, losing despite having his opponent at a disadvantage.
Kengō specializes in using a white-colored deck, which focuses on defensive strategies and burst effects. One of his key spirit cards is The IceHero Mibrock-Baragan, which he uses both offensively and as a set burst to counter his opponents' moves. His strategic approach to card battles is a direct reflection of his personality: calculated, composed, and intended to overwhelm his adversary through pressure and psychological play, even if his record shows he often falls just short of victory.
