Cornelius Kaka, occasionally referenced as Cornelius Caca, is a mechanic affiliated with the Earth Federation's Moore Brotherhood squadron. He serves aboard the mothership Beehive during the Thunderbolt Sector campaign of the One Year War. Before the conflict, he participated in air racing events on Side 4: Moore alongside Io Fleming and Claudia Peer, establishing a longstanding friendship.
His primary role involves maintaining mobile suits and supporting squadron operations. Cornelius demonstrates consistent concern for Io Fleming's well-being, influenced by the psychological impact of the Battle of Moore and the loss of their homeland on Io. This concern manifests through small gestures, like providing Io with tissues during allergic reactions in the hangar. He also observes that Io doesn't inherently enjoy combat but feels most alive in life-threatening situations.
Following the Thunderbolt Sector conflict and the Beehive's destruction, Cornelius is reassigned to the Federation warship Spartan during post-war operations. He continues engineering duties there but also confronts Io when necessary, such as criticizing him for allowing the essential RX-78AL Atlas Gundam prototype to sustain extensive mission damage, emphasizing its strategic value against the South Seas Alliance.
Cornelius exhibits a generally caring and diplomatic personality. He attempts to peacefully persuade retreating Zeon soldiers to surrender rather than fight, an action his allies later exploit to safely disable a booby trap and capture a key Zeon scientist. After the One Year War, his character shifts significantly; influenced by Levan Fuu, he joins the South Seas Alliance and operates as a covert informant for the faction while maintaining his position aboard the Spartan.
