Description
Kazuki is a young male character characterized by impulsiveness and a kind heart. His background includes working with the pirate group Sea's Talon before being sold into slavery because of his attractive appearance, fostering a deep-seated hatred for both nobility and pirates. Rescued by the mercenary and refugee group Mountain's Lions, led by Mukaze, Kazuki develops strong loyalty to them and sees Mukaze as a father figure. Learning of Mukaze's estranged daughter, Shirayuki, who fled her kingdom to avoid becoming a prince's concubine, Kazuki feels indebted to Mukaze. Projecting his own experiences onto Shirayuki, he mistakenly believes she needs rescuing from her life in Clarines.
Physically, Kazuki is petite with long blond hair typically tied in a ponytail, featuring two locks framing his jaw and side-swept bangs. His feminine bone structure, golden amber eyes, and long eyelashes frequently lead others to call him a "pretty boy." He first appears wearing a faded tunic and capri pants. Later, when visiting Shirayuki in Lilias, he adopts more formal attire, including a cerulean jacket and burgundy scarf.
His personality blends impulsiveness with profound gratitude. He and his partner Itoya infiltrate Tanbarun Castle, drug Shirayuki, and kidnap her without explanation, intending to reunite her with Mukaze. During their escape, both are captured by Sea's Talon pirates. Kazuki endures torture to protect Shirayuki's identity as Mukaze's daughter, refusing to divulge information that could endanger her or the Mountain's Lions. Following a joint rescue operation by Prince Zen, Prince Raji, and the Mountain's Lions, Kazuki witnesses Zen's dedication, challenging his prejudice against nobility. He encourages Mukaze to reconcile with Shirayuki but accepts her decision to remain in Clarines as a court pharmacist.
After these events, Kazuki maintains a friendship with Shirayuki through letter exchanges. He visits her in Lilias with Mihaya, sharing a meal with her and Obi. His relationship with Prince Zen evolves into one of respect, though he generally retains skepticism toward nobility. Kazuki continues working with the Mountain's Lions, now legally recognized by Tanbarun's king, and collaborates with Mihaya on various jobs.
