Description
Ren Homura serves as the central protagonist throughout Monster Strike media. He suffers amnesia regarding his childhood spent in Kaminohara (also called Kaminogahara), experiencing only fleeting resurgences of these lost memories during significant moments, often triggered by Monster Strike battles. This memory loss stems from an unspecified childhood accident.

Discovering the Monster Strike app mysteriously installed on his smartphone after a repair propels him into real-world monster battles. Initially struggling to control monsters, he requires a Striker Ring provided by classmate Aoi Mizusawa. Activating the ring or app induces a physical transformation where his hair changes color, frequently coinciding with fragmented memory recovery. This state heightens his combat prowess and strategic insight.

Key monster partners vital to his battle effectiveness include Oragon, Fenrir X the Monsterwolf, and Ryoma the Visionary, with Ryoma later evolving significantly into Hero of the Restoration, Ryoma.

His development involves forming a team with Aoi Mizusawa, Minami Wakaba, and Akira Kagetsuki. Akira initially resists Ren's leadership due to perceived differences with their former teammate Haruma Kagutsuchi, but gradually accepts Ren after witnessing his dedication and leadership. The team investigates Monster Strike incidents while Ren searches for answers about his past.

A pivotal romantic relationship develops with Mana Livingston, an American transfer student later revealed as a Half-Human Hybrid. Her capture by the antagonist Miroku becomes a major catalyst, driving Ren to confront greater threats. He rejects Miroku's justifications for imprisoning Mana, prioritizing her rescue above broader ideological conflicts.

Later conflicts involve confronting the powerful Decemviri, entities opposing the Almighty. While direct interactions with figures like Da'at remain less detailed, Ren's broader role in these cosmic struggles is established through the narrative progression across seasons and films. His journey consistently ties regaining lost memories to protecting others and confronting escalating threats.
