Description
Koma-san is a komainu Yo-kai resembling a Shiba Inu with ivory fur, a light blue stomach, and long blue fiery eyebrows like hitodama flames. Red swirls mark his cheeks and hips, complementing his lime-green eyes. He typically carries a green furoshiki cloth adorned with white spiral patterns to store items, later adding a small green sling pouch gifted by his younger brother Komajiro. Placing a leaf on his head transforms him into a teenage male disguise with black hair.

Centuries guarding a rural shrine ended when it was demolished, leading Koma-san to venture into the city. He retains a country bumpkin demeanor, often speaking in a regional dialect and exclaiming "Oh my swirls!" when excited or surprised. Shy, curious, and peaceful, he prefers non-violent solutions despite possessing fire-based abilities like controlling flames and summoning hitodama for combat, which he rarely employs.

His core relationship is with Komajiro, whom he protects while occasionally feeling competitive or jealous of his brother's quicker city adaptation. They share adventures and live together in a small house. A visit home revealed a surprise human baby brother, Komasaburo, as disclosed by their mother during the movie "Enma Daioh to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan!". Koma-san regularly corresponds with his mother about city life.

In the human world, he befriended Nate and Whisper early on, who helped him navigate urban survival. He later aided a manga artist with a lost manuscript, revealing himself as a Yo-kai to inspire her work, stemming from a childhood encounter where she saw him while holding ice cream with her grandmother. He also assisted Hailey Anne Thomas after she found him licking ice cream, sparking a cultural rumor that the act brings good luck.

His city experiences include diverse occupations: detective work in "Springdale Five-YO", taxi driving with Komajiro, and various jobs in "Let's Go To Work!" segments. He participated in events like hosting the "Yo-kai Red & White Song Battle" and starred in the parody series "Dog of the North Star" as Komashiro, where a battle caused a temporary fusion with Jibanyan called Jibakoma. Koma-san also demonstrated unexpected expert driving skills capable of avoiding all obstacles.
