Description
Dairokuten Maō, alias Nobunaga Tenma, functions as a central antagonist with anti-villain traits in *Battle Spirits Burning Soul*. His alias directly channels the Buddhist "Demon King of the Sixth Heaven," a mythological symbol of delusion and enlightenment’s obstruction, historically leveraged by feudal lord Oda Nobunaga to instill fear.

Concealed beneath a silver horned mask, spiked red wig, and crimson cape-accented attire, Dairokuten Maō exudes ruthless confidence and strategic brilliance, pursuing global order through control. Unmasked, he reveals himself as Nobunaga Tenma—a tall youth with dark brown hair partially tied in a high ponytail, blue eyes, and a resemblance to Oda Nobunaga. Associates contrast this unmasked identity’s kindness, wisdom, and gentleness against his Maō persona’s intensity.

Operating covertly with subordinates Ranmaru Shikigami and Toukichirou Mashira, he orchestrates Musashi’s takeover by manipulating Kanetsugu Houryokuin into leadership. After Kanetsugu’s imprisonment and enforcement of uniform deck regulations, Dairokuten Maō releases him following Ranmaru and Toukichirou’s defeat but clashes ideologically with protagonist Yukimura Rekka, crushing him decisively.

Entering the Warring States Championship alongside Ranmaru and Toukichirou, Dairokuten Maō publicly demands full authority over the International Battle Spirits Association (IBSA) upon victory—a challenge accepted by executive Ichi Tenma. He overwhelms opponents Katsuie Shiraishi and Souun Gunjou in early rounds; the latter battle critically injures Souun, galvanizing Yukimura’s resolve. Confronting Toshiie Homura damages Dairokuten Maō’s mask, forcing its removal and exposing Nobunaga Tenma. This stuns spectators, especially Yukimura, who identifies him as his vanished mentor. Dairokuten Maō disavows ties to "Nobu," defeats Toshiie, and inflicts grave wounds.

Privately, Nobunaga Tenma later explains to Yukimura his departure from Japan to seek stronger opponents abroad, where exposure to advanced 3D battling systems inspired partnering with IBSA to modernize Japan’s infrastructure. He also mentors Yukimura on countering Soul Drive techniques. The tournament climaxes in their final duel, where Yukimura’s victory halts Nobunaga’s authoritarian aims. Post-defeat, Nobunaga reforms, journeying with Ranmaru and Toukichirou while entrusting IBSA to his sister Ichi Tenma.

In combat, Dairokuten Maō wields a versatile multi-color deck, mastering all six Battle Spirits hues. Signature cards include the all-color spirits "The HeavenlyDemonKing God-Sechs" and variants "-Type Destroy-" and "-Type The End-," plus strategic Nexus cards like "The World of Owari"—a nod to Nobunaga’s birthplace. The deck integrates spirits reflecting historical traits, such as "The GunSoldier Tanegashima," evoking firearms mastery.

Narrative and design intertwine deeply with Oda Nobunaga’s legacy, extending beyond the alias to visual motifs (e.g., Six Heaven Castle Nexus card) and the core theme of imposing order through control, reinforcing the dual identity’s exploration of ambition, power, and redemption.
