Description
Sasuke Akatsuki hails from Musashi, initially unskilled at the Battle Spirits card game. He sports messy spiked brown hair and brown eyes, wearing yellow ninja attire with shuriken designs, a black undershirt, and red wrist bands.
Driven by a desire for fame, he impulsively challenges S-Class battler Toshiie Homura but is forced to battle Nagayori Akai instead. Sasuke loses this first duel due to excessive caution protecting his life points, resulting in his deck being stolen. After Yukimura Rekka retrieves the deck, Sasuke seeks discipleship under him. Yukimura declines formal mentorship but allows Sasuke to stay and engage in practice battles.
Demonstrating loyalty, Sasuke attempts to intercept challenges to Yukimura from Souun Gunjou and Kanetsugu Houryokuin. His duel against Souun ends in swift defeat via deck destruction; he never battles Kanetsugu. Yukimura provides guidance by giving Sasuke the card Sengoku-Gurendragon and training with him, including preparations for Yukimura's rematch against Toshiie.
Aiming to compete in the Warring States Championship, Sasuke cannot join Yukimura's team as Souun and Kanetsugu occupy the spots. He instead participates in a Rank-Up Battle tournament with friends. Tied with Munenori Hiiragi for the most points, Sasuke wins their decisive match, earning A-Rank status. He enters the championship primarily to support Yukimura, later watching Yukimura's dream match against Toshiie alongside friends.
Sasuke uses a red deck featuring cards like Ashigaru Raptor, Bladra, Dinonychusaw, and his key card Sengoku-Gurendragon. His strategies incorporate magic cards such as Victory Fire, Sagitta Flame, and Soul Draw. His battle record includes losses to Nagayori, Souun, and multiple defeats to Yukimura, alongside victories against opponents like Munepi and Norihide.
He progresses from an unskilled, overly cautious battler to achieving A-Rank status through persistence and mentorship, with his core motivation shifting from seeking fame to supporting his mentor's ambitions.
