Teru Asami is a Seikoku Academy honor student, chosen as one of the first pilots by Oblivion Bay's Alien Affairs division before other main characters were recruited. His sharp intellect and sound judgment establish him as the pilot team's tactician and strategist, frequently assessing potential Megaton-Class Rogue candidates. Teru maintains a calm, mature demeanor and possesses narcissistic tendencies, yet interacts with effective social skills.

He starts as co-pilot of the combined robot Musashi, overseeing communication systems and operational statistics during missions. Later, he transitions to piloting his dedicated Megaton-Class Rogue, Sparkman, which generates electricity to enhance its attacks. Teru deeply respects Commander Sayaka Minami and executes her directives precisely, maintaining a strictly professional relationship that hides their romantic involvement.

A pivotal moment occurs when Sayaka dies, revealing she was pregnant with Teru's child. This thrusts Teru into single fatherhood, raising their daughter Mirai. His storyline delves into his struggle to adjust to this responsibility while continuing his pilot duties. After the war against the Draktors and the formation of the Earth-Sidr alliance, Teru steps back from frontline piloting to focus entirely on raising Mirai and building a peaceful life.

In later years, Teru's legacy continues through Mirai, who embarks on her own adventures piloting the Musashi Delta. His character arc shifts from tactical leadership and combat to personal sacrifice and dedicated fatherhood.
