Description
Hana Arai lives across from Alice Arisugawa in the enigmatic "Flower House," its mystery fueled by her mother's vast garden and sorrowful demeanor, spawning ghost stories and school rumors. This atmosphere fosters Hana's reclusive nature, resulting in infrequent departures from home and persistent school absences.

Witty, cynical, and fashionably jaded, Hana harbors deep trauma stemming from her crush on Kotaro Yuda (known as "Judas" in school lore). Attempting to express her feelings during a classroom event, she gave him a fabricated marriage certificate. Discovering he distributed similar certificates to other girls, she placed a bee inside his shirt. It stung him just as he announced transferring schools, causing him to collapse. Witnessing his severe allergic reaction and hearing classmates speculate he might die from anaphylactic shock, Hana believed she caused his death, leading to complete withdrawal from school and social life.

Her isolation ends when her new neighbor, Alice, a transfer student investigating the school's rumor about Judas's supposed murder by "four wives," uncovers Hana's connection to Kotaro and initiates contact. Though initially resistant, Hana eventually collaborates with Alice to uncover Kotaro's fate. She devises a failed plan to trick his father into revealing information. The pair then travel to spy on Kotaro's home, miss their last train, and spend the night hidden under a truck. During this time, Hana confesses the full details of the bee incident to Alice.

The next day culminates in a direct encounter with Kotaro Yuda, alive and well. He confronts Hana, stating he knew she placed the bee and would "never forget that pain as long as he lives." Hana interprets this as a sign of his enduring feelings. This resolution alleviates her guilt and trauma. Shortly afterward, she dons her school uniform and resumes attending classes.

Her friendship with Alice, forged through their shared investigation, becomes a pivotal support system. This experience enables Hana to overcome her reclusiveness and emotional burdens, demonstrating her capacity for resilience and personal growth.
