Inshun Hōzōin is a prideful S-tier fighter and master of his dojo at Kohfukuji Academy. His first appearance occurs when fighters from Kansai attack Seito Gakuen, leading him into a significant battle against Kan'u. He suffers defeat in this encounter, a pivotal moment where Kan'u attains S-rank status. This loss triggers substantial change within him, shifting him away from arrogance toward humility.

Upon returning to his dojo, he overhears students criticizing his leadership. Instead of responding with anger, he deliberately chooses to ignore the disparaging remarks, demonstrating restraint. This commitment to self-improvement earns him increased respect from his students, showcasing newfound maturity and a focus on growth.

Later, he confronts the antagonist Himiko when she arrives at the dojo, openly opposing her goals. During the ensuing fight, he receives assistance from his students, now referred to as comrades, reflecting their improved relationships. Despite their combined efforts, Himiko defeats them. Himiko's objectives involve collecting spiritually powerful artifacts, including magatama from Kanto and tsuba from Kansai; her ultimate purpose remains undisclosed.
