Description
Chidori Yoshino is a central figure in *Persona 3 The Movie #3 Falling Down*, with her character arc spanning multiple *Persona 3* adaptations. Her background and development remain consistent across the original game, enhanced versions, manga, and animated films.

One of only three children to survive the Kirijo Group's artificial Persona awakening experiments a decade prior, Chidori became dependent on suppressant drugs to control her Persona, Medea. Without medication, Medea turns lethal, attempting to strangle her. This dependency drove her into Strega, a group of artificial Persona users performing assassinations and illegal activities during the Dark Hour to fund their suppressants, operating via a "revenge website." Her loyalty to Strega members Takaya Sakaki and Jin Shirato stemmed solely from having nowhere else to belong; she did not consider them friends. Medea remained her only perceived companion despite its deadly nature.

Her appearance features a distinct gothic-lolita style: a black headband with a fake dagger, a white ruffled collar secured by a black ribbon, a long white dress, and a chained red hand axe. She wears standard hospital garb without accessories during hospitalization. Chidori maintains emotional detachment, fearing attachments due to a conviction that loss inevitably follows connection. This worldview fostered indifference towards death, viewing it simply as "not waking up anymore." She expressed herself through sketching, often at Port Island Station, believing only she could interpret her drawings. Self-mutilation served as a coping mechanism, with her abilities causing wounds to heal miraculously.

Her storyline intensifies upon encountering Junpei Iori of SEES, the group opposing Strega. Initially dismissing him as a nuisance, she gradually develops feelings. She kidnaps him during the Hermit Arcana Shadow operation, mistakenly believing him SEES's leader. After SEES captures and hospitalizes her, Junpei's persistent visits begin to break through her emotional barriers, though she later attempts to push him away, fearing attachment's pain. During this period, she uses her unique "Spring of Life" ability to revive wilted flowers Junpei brings, transferring her life force to them and injuring herself.

Conflict erupts when Strega breaks her out. Briefly reverting to old loyalties, she confronts SEES at Tartarus. When Takaya fatally shoots Junpei, Chidori rejects Strega and sacrifices herself using "Spring of Life" to heal his injuries, knowing it will kill her. With her dying breath, she confesses her love. Her sketchbook, inherited by Junpei, reveals numerous portraits of him, strengthening his resolve to honor her. This sacrifice also causes Medea to merge with Junpei’s Persona, Hermes, forming Trismegistus.

In expanded media like *Persona 3 FES* and the manga, Chidori can be revived under specific conditions. If Junpei visits her consistently on November 6th, 11th, 14th, and 22nd, the life force she imbued in the hospital flowers returns to her body, reviving her on January 21st. Upon revival, she loses all memories of Strega, SEES, Junpei, and the Dark Hour. Fragmented memories of her pre-experiment childhood resurface, revealing her original compassionate and mature nature. Medea remains absent, permanently merged with Junpei’s Persona.

Her design evolves in adaptations. *Persona 3 Reload* depicts her hospitalized without her headband, collar, or ribbons, wearing a pure white dress instead of her gothic attire. *Persona 3 The Movie #3 Falling Down* follows the game’s core events, emphasizing her internal conflict, sacrifice, and the impact of her death on Junpei.
