Description
Astaroth occupies the significant administrative role of Minister of Finance within Pandemonium's demonic hierarchy. Originally an angel, he deliberately chose to fall from Heaven following Beelzebub's alignment with Satan's rebellion, driven by profound romantic feelings for her—an act showcasing his willingness to forsake celestial status for personal devotion.

He frequently adopts the persona of Beelzebub's older brother, despite no actual familial tie existing. This self-proclaimed role underscores his persistent desire for closeness, though his approaches often overwhelm her, leading to rejection. His intense devotion manifests as flirtatious advances toward Beelzebub, consistently failing to gain mutual affection.

Professionally, Astaroth neglects his duties as finance minister, shirking responsibilities like budget management to pursue romantic encounters across Pandemonium. This behavior forces his assistant, Sargatanas, to intervene, employing ropes or threats of violence to compel him back to work, revealing his tendency to avoid accountability despite his high rank.

Astaroth displays a flamboyant and playful personality, often seeking attention. He occasionally dons artificial angel wings to impress others, particularly during flirtations. While typically laidback, he demonstrates seriousness when circumstances demand, especially concerning Beelzebub's affairs.

His relationship with Sargatanas extends beyond the professional, featuring mutual romantic tension. Astaroth sometimes provokes her with remarks about her physical appearance, specifically noting her smaller bust size compared to other female characters, which typically triggers violent retaliation. Despite this antagonism, both occasionally display blushing reactions, indicating underlying affection amid their combative interactions.

Primarily a source of comic relief, Astaroth generates lighthearted situations through his exaggerated romantic pursuits, dramatic reactions to rejection, and frequent attempts to escape work responsibilities. He is often depicted fleeing from Sargatanas when she attempts to restrain him or return him to duty.
