Description
Maria Himesato attends Dream Academy as a cute-type idol representing the Aurora Fantasy brand. Hailing from a wealthy family with a mountain farm estate, she experienced relative isolation during her upbringing due to her parents' frequent business travels. Headmistress Tiara Yumesaki discovered Maria during a mountain photoshoot, captivated by her radiant potential when she kindly offered refreshments to the crew. This encounter secured Maria's enrollment to pursue idol training.

Her appearance features caramel-colored hair styled in ringlets, often partially held by a floral hairband, complemented by dark purple eyes and fair skin. Maria maintains a consistently ladylike demeanor, characterized by kindness, gentleness, and a soft-spoken nature. She exhibits thoughtfulness in social interactions, such as planning events around others' preferences, and possesses expertise in cosmetics, especially in selecting flattering nail polish shades. Maria adores daisies and asters, native to her mountainous homeland, and maintains a strong attachment to her rural roots, frequently returning home. A notable companion is her cow, Elizabeth III.

Maria's primary friendship is with Dream Academy classmate Sora Kazesawa; they frequently collaborate on training, television appearances, and advertising campaigns. She also shares a bond with Sakura Kitaōji through their mutual Aurora Fantasy brand preference. A significant relationship develops with Otome when they pair for the Partners' Cup at the Partners' Finding Party. To strengthen their partnership, Maria visits Otome's childhood kindergarten, assisting there while learning about Otome's past.

Maria's idol performances and coords emphasize fairy-tale aesthetics, reflected in an idol aura incorporating storybook symbols and pink geraniums. She debuted in her Premium Rare Coord, becoming the fourth idol to do so and the sixth to bypass a basic coord debut. Her journey includes membership in the units Dream Star and Aikatsu8. She fulfills the role of Dream Academy's primary cute-type idol. Her name carries meaning: "Hime" (princess) references her affluent background, "Sato" (village) alludes to her rural home, and "Maria" derives from Latin meanings like "wished-for child" or "star of the sea."

Trivia notes her zodiac sign as Aries, blood type O, and status as the only cute-type idol with a katakana-written given name. She shares both her Aurora Fantasy brand affiliation and singing voice performer, Eri, with Sakura Kitaōji, later extending this sharing to Sora Kazesawa and Kokone Kurisu. Maria made a pre-debut cameo in episode 67 before her formal introduction in episode 68, "Flower-Blooming Aurora Princess."
