Description
Cynthia Landlavizar is a 10-year-old girl with blonde hair, green eyes, and a small stature of 1.28 meters. Rarely speaking during the day, she communicates primarily through gestures and breathing sounds. This silent demeanor stems from childhood trauma where her parents exploited her exceptional intelligence for personal gain before abandoning her. This experience triggered dissociative identity disorder, resulting in a second personality named Grace.

Grace manifests exclusively at night while Cynthia sleeps, possessing a vocal, assertive, and stubborn disposition distinct from Cynthia's childlike innocence. She oversees the Hanaukyo mansion's computer security operations, maintaining the estate's technological core, the MEMOL supercomputer system. This vital role demands advanced technical expertise and constant vigilance. The personalities transition during sleep cycles, typically unaware of each other's actions, though occasional communication between them is possible.

During daylight hours, Cynthia exhibits a cheerful, naive demeanor. She often follows the protagonist, Taro Hanaukyo, showing him around the mansion and forms a close bond with the head maid, Mariel. Her daytime behavior reflects an attempt to reclaim the childhood experiences lost due to parental exploitation. Conversely, Grace's nocturnal activities involve intensive system maintenance and security oversight. Grace's tendency to overexert herself during these periods exacerbates physical and mental strain on their shared body, creating health complications.

Recruited to the Hanaukyo household after her abandonment, Cynthia was initially ostracized due to her genius-level intellect. The emergence of Grace served as a psychological defense mechanism. Within the mansion, Cynthia is integrated into the maid team despite her unconventional communication and young age, while Grace's contributions remain vital to infrastructure stability. The narrative implies ongoing challenges regarding the sustainability of their dual existence and the toll of Grace's work habits.
