Description
Enshō, a genius art counterfeiter, first pursued the priesthood before returning to forgery upon learning of Kiyotaka Yagashira's work exposing counterfeit art. He dons a distinctive shaved head and traditional Japanese attire. Renowned for exceptional manual dexterity and keen observational skills, he crafts convincing replicas of artworks. After Kiyotaka initially exposes him, he adopts the alias "Moria" (inspired by Sherlock Holmes' nemesis Professor Moriarty), cementing their adversarial dynamic.

He tests Kiyotaka's expertise, presenting counterfeit tea bowls for appraisal, and escalates to direct challenges like stealing a valuable Shino tea bowl and leaving written taunts. Infiltrating an antique appraisal contest involving Kiyotaka's acquaintances under the false identity "Tanaka," he provokes Kiyotaka, displaying aggression toward Aoi Mashiro that necessitates Kiyotaka's intervention. A recurring theme is his resentment toward Kiyotaka's privileged background and opportunities, contrasting sharply with his own squandered artistic talents. Kiyotaka voices frustration at Enshō's choice to use his gifts for counterfeiting over legitimate art.

Later developments reveal reluctant collaboration; he partners with Kiyotaka and a detective agency to investigate cases, including stalking incidents and Kyoto art thefts. This uneasy alliance extends to a Shanghai art appraisal trip, where Enshō becomes entangled in a blackmail scheme threatening Kiyotaka's family. His backstory unveils deeper layers, including past connections to an Ohara drug cult and involvement in stolen art trafficking. Exhibitions of his paintings are subsequently organized, indicating a potential shift toward legitimate recognition of his artistic skills.
