Description
Shiro Amada commands the Earth Federation’s 08th Mobile Suit Team during the One Year War. A former Side 2 resident, his military career ignited after witnessing Zeon forces deploy GG gas in a colony attack, an atrocity that claimed civilian lives and seeded his early hatred for the Principality. Driven by trauma, he enlisted in the Earth Federation Forces, graduated officer training, and took charge of a ground unit in Southeast Asia.

Before assuming command, a pivotal encounter with Zeon test pilot Aina Sahalin during a space rescue mission shifted his worldview. Despite their opposing loyalties, the two forged an unexpected connection that softened his rigid stance on the conflict. His idealism evolved into a shared pursuit of peace with Aina, a vision that clashed with Federation superiors fixated on total victory.

As a leader, he prioritized survival over rigid obedience, earning his team’s loyalty through unorthodox strategies and unwavering dedication to their safety. His bond with Aina triggered turmoil, culminating in a treason charge during her involvement with Zeon’s experimental Apsalus mobile armor. Though acquitted, distrust lingered, and he abandoned his post during the Apsalus III’s final assault to save Aina. Both were presumed dead after their mobile suits plunged into a volcanic crater.

Miraculously surviving, Shiro lost his left leg and rejected a prosthetic, severing ties with the Federation. He and Aina withdrew to a remote mountain range, constructing a secluded life as they awaited their child’s birth. Their existence remained hidden until former comrades Michel Ninorich and Kiki Rosita tracked them post-war, confirming their survival.

Discrepancies surround his presence during the Side 2 attack: some records place him as a resident celebrating Christmas with family, while others cite deployment on a Federation rescue mission. His resourceful tactics included repurposing a Ball unit to combat mobile suits and collaborating with local guerrillas to offset limited resources.

In *Battle in Three Dimensions*, he directed the team during a Zeon ambush at a bridge, though the short film offers no deeper character insights. Officially declared missing in action after the war, Shiro leveraged this status to abandon military ties entirely, devoting himself to a quiet future with Aina.
