TV-Series
Description
Dogi serves as Adol Christin's steadfast companion and best friend throughout the *Ys* series. A blue-haired, powerfully built man, he is famously known as "Dogi the Wallcrusher" for his signature ability to shatter walls and boulders barehanded. Originally part of Goban Tovah's thief group, Dogi first encountered Adol when he freed him by breaking through a magical prison cell in Darm Tower, sparking their enduring friendship. He abandoned thievery to become Adol's constant travel partner on countless adventures.
Dogi exhibits unwavering loyalty and protectiveness toward Adol. He joins him on dangerous quests, such as their voyage to the Canaan Islands aboard the *Tres Mares*. When the Romun Fleet attacked and Adol was thrown overboard, Dogi survived the Great Vortex of Canaan and later reunited with Adol by smashing through a blocked path at Sunrise Inlet. He also aids in critical missions, including rescuing kidnapped Rehda villagers and confronting antagonists like Ernst.
In combat, Dogi is a formidable close-quarters fighter with high endurance. Games like *Ys SEVEN* and *Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga* feature him wielding knuckles or gauntlets, utilizing powerful physical attacks and skills such as "Bash," "Uppercut," and "Grand Slam," alongside support abilities that enhance stunning enemies.
Dogi appears in the spin-off *Minna Atsumare! Falcom Gakuen* alongside other Falcom characters in a school setting. His personality is generally easy-going and good-natured. His wall-crushing trait humorously extends to breaking the fourth wall in *Ys I Complete*, where his portrait overlaps dialogue boxes. While typically clean-shaven, later installments like *Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana* and *Ys IX: Monstrum Nox* depict him with a goatee.
