TV-Series
Description
Pō-chan is a pink creature of unknown origin and unclear biological classification. It communicates solely through vocalizations of "Pupipo," the sound from which its name derives. Wakaba, a young girl ostracized for her ability to see supernatural entities, first encounters Pō-chan, and the creature instantly bonds with her.

Pō-chan possesses the ability to detect, confront, and absorb malevolent spirits and curses invisible to ordinary humans. This power directly shields Wakaba from the supernatural threats that isolated her. Beyond this protection, Pō-chan's presence and actions help Wakaba integrate socially. Its companionship provides emotional stability, enabling her to form connections, including a friendship with an occult-obsessed transfer student and efforts to help a boy who also sees spirits.

The creature consistently demonstrates loyalty and affection, often through physical closeness and protective acts. Its role evolves from supernatural protector to a catalyst for resolving interpersonal conflicts, including instances of Wakaba's bullying. A significant revelation about Pō-chan's nature in the final episode reshapes the understanding of its existence and relationship with Wakaba, though the precise details and implications for its origin remain undefined. No expanded media beyond the core 15-episode television series exists to elaborate on Pō-chan’s background, abilities, or development. Its entire documented existence and impact occur within Wakaba’s story arc.
