Description
Takeshi Nanase begins as an ordinary high school student burdened by familial strife. His strained relationship involves his mother, Youko Nanase—a former member of Wizard Brace—and his younger brother, Gekkou Nanase. Once close, the brothers' bond shattered after Takeshi entered a fabricated romantic relationship with childhood friend Kurumi Isoshima to shield her from a stalker. Gekkou, secretly in love with Kurumi, accused Takeshi of exploiting her vulnerability. A confrontation led to Gekkou being struck by a car in an incident indirectly tied to Takeshi, causing permanent leg damage and Gekkou's abandonment of kendo. This tragedy cemented Gekkou's bitter resentment toward his brother.

Takeshi's path diverges when he discovers Mui Aiba, a magician from a parallel world, collapsed on his school grounds. An accidental kiss transfers magic to Takeshi, transforming him into a magician and inadvertently converting Kurumi and friend Kazumi Ida as well. Choosing protection over a sealed return to the human world, Takeshi enrolls at Subaru Magic Academy, with Kurumi and Kazumi joining him.

Initially determined yet emotionally dense, Takeshi overlooks romantic affections from Kurumi and Mui. His drive to become a powerful magician stems from protective instincts, though his relational naivety complicates interactions. A pivotal shift occurs when Gekkou, now part of the antagonistic Ghost Trailer, kidnaps Kurumi and nearly kills her. This hardens Takeshi, forging a colder, vengeful stance toward his brother.

Specializing in Evasive Magic, Takeshi wields Strike Vision—a precognitive ability manifesting as a magic circle in his right eye that evolves to include telepathy, reading emotions and thoughts. His ancestral weapon, Twilight, a gun-sword once owned by Youko, enhances his Evasive Magic until stolen and modified by Gekkou. His spell repertoire includes Protection (defensive barrier), Float (levitation), Drive (speed augmentation), Liberate (magic amplification), and Flick (magical projectiles).

Relationships define his journey: the fake romance with Kurumi obscures her true feelings, while Takeshi's unresolved emotions kindle a growing attraction to Mui. Kazumi Ida remains a steadfast ally, their bond fortified through shared battles. Takeshi's conflict with Gekkou escalates lethally after Gekkou's betrayal and violence against their family, leading Takeshi to abandon mercy.

Revelations expose Takeshi's pureblood wizard lineage and Youko's efforts to prevent Gekkou's transformation into Kazuma Ryuusenji, Ghost Trailer's leader. A time-travel event strands Takeshi and Gekkou in 1998, one year before the First Great Magic War. Gekkou seizes control of Kazuma's body there, instigating the war. In the present, Kazuma (now Gekkou) seeks to ignite the Second Great Magic War, positioning Takeshi as pivotal to stopping it. The narrative concludes ambiguously as Takeshi awakens in 1998 following a magical explosion, hinting at unresolved temporal repercussions.
