Description
Baku Omori, a 12-year-old sixth-grader at Aibo Academy, thrives as the strategic deck builder of Team Balle du Soleil, collaborating with classmates Gao Mikado and Kuguru Uki in the ABC and Gaen Cups. His spiky brown hair, secured by a white headband adorned with a blue wrench, frames light blue eyes. A dull orange shirt bearing a white hexagon peeks beneath a light blue jumpsuit with dark blue accents, its right side concealing a minus sign. A red belt, brown boots, and a grey toolbox perpetually perched on his shoulder complete his practical ensemble.

Friendly and selfless, Baku’s easygoing nature falters only when hunger strikes, slowing his actions and clouding his thoughts. His toolbox-shaped card case mirrors his passion for deck construction, though impulsivity leads him to dismantle machinery or spark arguments. Despite frequent clashes with Gao, their bond remains unshaken.

As Gao’s childhood friend, Baku reluctantly becomes his deck builder after Kuguru’s persuasion. A rift in Episode 7 leads him to Tetsuya Kurodake, whose banana offering sparks gratitude—and a deck rebuild. Witnessing Baku’s skill and Tetsuya’s victory, Gao reconciles with him, solidifying their team. In Episode 9, Baku modifies Gao’s deck to counter his defensive gaps, overcoming resistance with Jin Magatsu’s aid. Later, he crafts three decks tailored to Drum Bunker Dragon’s evolving forms.

Episode 36 unveils a Dungeon deck featuring monsterized friends, including Baku. A Link Attack with Kuguru forces them to clasp hands, sparking real-world embarrassment. While both dismiss romance, Kuguru’s concern surfaces when Baku faints—only to find him merely starved. Declaring he’d "choose lunch over love," Baku endures Kuguru shoving bananas down his throat.

Kemura’s revelation about Darkness Dragon World in Episode 39 triggers Baku’s memory of cousin Retsu, who taught him deck-building years prior. Reuniting with Retsu—now Gremlin—in Episode 49, Baku refuses his offer to join Disaster. Though wary of Gremlin’s motives, he reluctantly adds Jackknife Dragon to Gao’s deck. Gremlin’s betrayal stings, but Baku beams with pride as Gao triumphs.

Facing Distortion Punisher!! before Gao’s rematch with Tasuku, Baku deciphers a hidden clue in Gremlin’s taunts, guiding Gao to trigger Roaring Slash!! Gargantua Punisher!!. The tactic succeeds until Retsu anticipates it, forcing Tasuku’s survival. Baku later equips Gao with an upgraded Explosive Fang Dragon deck for the Kyoya showdown, celebrating his victory.

Season 2 opens with Baku, Gao, Drum, and Kuguru brainstorming names for Tasuku’s enigmatic blank impact card, their dynamic as lively as ever.
