Description
Sōya Kuroi stands as the sole survivor of the planet Sirius, annihilated by the Dragon. This catastrophe erased his memories, leaving only recollections from the past year. Rescued by Ginko and Sensei of Nebula's Pacifist Faction, he was brought to Earth and integrated into their household. Fragmented memories of Sirius's destruction fuel his initial drive for revenge against entities wielding powers reminiscent of the Dragon.

He possesses advanced psychic abilities, exceptional even within Nebula. These powers encompass telekinesis, telepathy, force field generation, astral projection capable of manifesting colossal mental copies hundreds of kilometers tall, and extrasensory perception enabling him to detect higher-dimensional entities. Sōya pilots a mecha formed by fusing with Sensei; combining this mecha with a spaceship activates Battle Mode, exponentially increasing his combat capabilities to multi-continent levels of attack potency and durability. His standard arsenal includes creating weapons like the Giga Cat Hammer and Giga Cat Blade. He utilizes the Cosmos Matanbi Z device to trigger a temporary power surge called Doping Mode, though it results in subsequent fatigue. He employs perception-blocking devices to avoid identification and demonstrates resistance to mind manipulation.

Initially, Sōya's personality is dominated by his fixation on avenging Sirius. He shows minimal interest in Nebula's wider conflict with Earth's protectors, Grand Paladin, actively opposing them due to perceiving their powers as linked to the Dragon. After confronting the Dragon, this motivation vanishes, plunging him into apathy and withdrawal from conflict until new stakes emerge. A recurring motif involves his thwarted attempts to eat meat, often unintentionally or by Ginko. His relationship with classmate Nozomi Takamagahara becomes pivotal; she deduces his secret activities early, leading to open communication and mutual trust, providing him essential emotional grounding. Interactions with Sensei and Ginko form a familial dynamic: Sensei acts as both mentor and mecha component, while Ginko serves as translator and stabilizing influence.

Sōya's development unfolds in distinct phases. Early fragmented memories resurface during battles, cementing his resolve against Grand Paladin. Midway through the story, defeating the Dragon triggers a crisis of purpose; he explicitly refuses further combat, citing a lack of personal stakes. A subsequent five-year time skip sees him gain full control of his psychic powers without enhancements and reconcile with former adversaries like Grand Paladin. He participates in the final confrontation against the Dragon on the moon, demonstrating renewed commitment to protecting others. His arc concludes as he moves beyond revenge, finding peace alongside allies, symbolizing a transition from vengeance-driven isolation to integrated resilience.
