Description
Raetsel emerges as a major figure in the third season, sporting short pink-red hair, green eyes, and distinct attire: a red loose shirt, light pink skirt, black stockings, brown boots, a red wristband, a necklace, and green hair accessories. Her name carries the meaning "riddle" in German.

Her history is deeply entwined with Jin Makata, who took her under his protection during his travels after discovering her puzzle-crafting talent, shielding her from groups like P.O.G. Witnessing Jin's involvement with perilous "Fool's Puzzles," she perceived his actions as suffering, fostering a hatred for puzzles she blamed for his pain. This conviction drove her to prove puzzles unnecessary and harmful, leading her to found or align with the Master Brains, an organization committed to eradicating puzzlers, believing it fulfilled Jin's supposed wishes.

Introduced as an antagonist, she kidnaps Jin during a puzzle-solving mission in England, declaring he despised puzzles—a direct contradiction to Kaito Daimon's understanding of their mentor. As a lethal puzzle "Giver," she activates deadly traps against Kaito and his allies, showcasing her ruthless methods fueled by her mission to eliminate puzzles. Yet, around Jin, her demeanor softens significantly, revealing a childish, deeply protective side and romantic feelings; she is determined to restore his lost memories.

Her relationship with Kaito evolves from hostility toward mutual respect. They initially clash over opposing views of Jin and his connection to puzzles. Following their confrontation in the Killing Colosseum, her animosity wanes. She allies with Orpheus to save Jin, expressing regret that she and Kaito didn't meet earlier under different circumstances, imagining pasts where they could have been close friends. This shift concludes with her joining Kaito's group to oppose the primary antagonist Orpheus in the season's climax.

Her development includes questioning her mission after interactions with Kaito's allies, especially when Enigma—a Master Brains leader—endangers these new connections. Ultimately, she reconciles with Jin's teachings, recognizing puzzles as "chains" linking people and "mirrors" reflecting solvers' emotions, prompting her to abandon her goal of eradicating puzzles.
