Description
Nijika Kohinata is a 12-year-old female student with blonde hair and blue eyes whose mature appearance frequently causes others to mistake her for a high school or middle school student. She is the daughter of the late legendary actress Saori Fujimiya, who died when Nijika was young, and Itsuki Kohinata, chief of an artist management office within a television station.
After her mother's death, Nijika nurtured an aversion to the entertainment industry, abandoning her childhood dream of acting alongside her mother. She actively avoids show business and hides her family background, including her father's occupation, to prevent attention from peers. Nijika also conceals a significant secret: she lives with 14-year-old actor Tōya Ichinose, a widely admired "prince-like" figure, fearing discovery would cause scandal.
Her resolve shifts when a television casting seeks a successor to her mother's legacy. Despite the 16-year minimum age, driven by rekindled determination, Nijika lies about her age to audition. Her mature look facilitates the deception, and her innate talent secures her the role. This victory forces her to perpetually maintain the age lie, a secret her classmates agree to protect while supporting her endeavors.
Nijika's acting debut occurs unexpectedly when she substitutes for an actress with food poisoning on a drama set. Initially plagued by nervousness and difficulty staying in character, she perseveres with Tōya's encouragement. This experience reignites her passion for acting, making her unable to resist its allure despite her earlier aversion.
Academically, Nijika struggles, consistently performing poorly on exams—a noted flaw despite her otherwise capable nature. She also dislikes paprika, a fact Tōya exploits to tease her by insisting she eat it. Nijika is accompanied by Kapitama, a pet whose species remains unspecified.
