Nijika Kohinata, a tall sixth-grade elementary student who looks older than her years, is the daughter of a television station office chief. She actively dodges the entertainment world due to her mother's death; her mother was a legendary actress who succumbed to illness. Nijika carefully conceals her family background to avoid connection to her mother's legacy. She also guards a major secret: she lives with the popular actor Tōya Ichinose, fearing public knowledge of their cohabitation would cause controversy. Her constant companion is her pet, Kapitama.

While running an errand with Kapitama, Nijika coincidentally encounters a drama production suddenly needing an actress due to food poisoning. She volunteers for the role, unexpectedly stepping into acting. Despite her initial avoidance of the industry, this experience sparks an aspiration within her to become an actress herself, fueled by her mother's legacy and her own emerging passion.
