Ginkaku Ebisugawa, born Kuresaburō, is one of Sōun Ebisugawa's twin sons and a cousin to the Shimogamo brothers. Alongside his identical twin Kinkaku (Kurejirō), he relentlessly targets the Shimogamo family, focusing particularly on bullying their youngest son Yashirō at the Electric Brandy factory. Physically mirroring his twin and father with distinct orange highlights beneath his eyes, Ginkaku differentiates himself with bangs swept sharply to the side, contrasting Kinkaku's center part. Both twins exhibit an arrogant, condescending personality and a penchant for troublemaking. Their frequent misuse of overly complex vocabulary—intended to project intelligence—often backfires, highlighting their foolishness. Ginkaku and Kinkaku actively further their father Sōun's schemes to usurp the Nise-emon title from his late brother, Sōichirō Shimogamo. They embody the Ebisugawa association with modernity and industrialization through the Electric Brandy factory, opposing the Shimogamos' traditional values. Their antagonism includes public ridicule and direct workplace harassment of Yashirō. A recurring comedic pattern sees Ginkaku and Kinkaku thrown into frigid water by the Shimogamos as punishment for their mischief, escalating to a river confrontation where the twins wryly acknowledge this expected consequence. Despite his hostility, Ginkaku shares a close, albeit dysfunctional, bond with Kinkaku. Both harbor genuine care for their sister Kaisei, who acts as a moral counterweight within the family. Following Sōun's death and the exposure of his betrayal—including impersonating their elder brother Kureichirō—the twins' prominence wanes. The real Kureichirō later emerges, initiating Shimogamo reconciliation, though the narrative does not explicitly chart Ginkaku's personal evolution or stance after these events.
