Description
Tatsuma appears in the anime adaptation of *BakuTech! Bakugan* as an Aquos attribute brawler partnered with the Bakugan Gif Jinryu. His energetic, easygoing, and friendly personality manifests as loyalty and support for fellow brawlers Harubaru Hinode and Raichi Kuronashi; he shows a slight preference for Harubaru, respectfully addressing him as "Harubaru-sempai" after Harubaru's Dragaon saved him from an accident. Despite his positive demeanor, Tatsuma starts as a novice brawler, often making mistakes due to inexperience and sometimes showing fear during confrontations, such as when frightened by Acro Gezard.

Introduced as a new student at Master Shimo's Bakugan Dojo, Tatsuma initially possesses underdeveloped brawling skills and rarely battles. His development begins upon obtaining Gif Jinryu from Master Shimo in the third episode, where his performance in a test brawl exceeds expectations. Acquiring new metal cross parts for Gif Jinryu – potentially, though not explicitly confirmed, given by champion Harou Kido – significantly enhances his capabilities. This allows him to specialize in Power Battles rather than Critical K.O.s, demonstrated when he defeats Harubaru in two consecutive brawls, flawlessly securing six Gate Cards.

Tatsuma participates in key series events: supporting Harubaru and Raichi against the Grif brothers, accompanying Team Dragaon to Quilt's temple, and undergoing trials there. During one trial, he attempts to shoot his Bakugan and retrieve it before a boulder knocks him down, failing the task. Quilt later uses a clone of Tatsuma to guide Raichi, resulting in the evolution of Raichi's Bakugan. He continues supporting teammates against antagonists like the Shadow Sanjushi and Zakuro, often in a cheerleading capacity rather than direct combat. In the sequel *BakuTech! Bakugan Gachi*, he competes with Team Dragaon in the Tavanel Cup.

His battle record reflects progression from inexperience to competence: initially avoiding most brawls, he later achieves victories including a tag-team win with Harubaru and Raichi against Karashina, Tohga, and Jinza, and a notable solo win against Harubaru. A tag-team battle against Zakuro (with Harubaru) remains unresolved. A minor physical trait involves decorative horns on his head, revealed to contain actual bones when exposed to an electric attack from Elec.
