Description
Quilt is a human who appears as a ten-year-old boy but is actually 150 years old. He serves as the teacher of Master Shimo and is a legendary brawler who uses the Aquos attribute, with Saint Aquas as his Guardian Bakugan. Said to be ten times stronger than Zakuro, Quilt possesses unusual abilities like healing and watches over BakuTechs to prevent their corruption. He also acts as the judge for the preliminary rounds of the BakuTech Coliseo.
In the manga, Quilt is a sage-like figure overseeing the proper use of Bakugan technology, mentoring and testing other brawlers for their growth and integrity. At the conclusion of the BakuTech storyline, he passes away, and Zakuro assumes his role as the Bakutech sage.
Within the anime, Quilt first appears obscured in shadows during the sixth episode, conducting specialized Bakuthlon tests for Team Dragaon. He fully reveals himself in the eighth episode to brawl with Harubaru Hinode. During this match, he captures two Gate Cards but intentionally loses after witnessing the evolution of Harubaru's Bakugan, Flare Dragaon, into Gren Dragaon, a purposeful test of his opponent's capabilities. Quilt appears again in a flashback with Master Shimo and Master Jyou. In the twenty-fifth episode, he uncovers a disguise used to pose as Zakuro to Koh Grif, again losing the subsequent brawl intentionally as a test.
Quilt explains the rules of Gachi Baku, a brawling format required for the Tavanel Cup. He materializes mock setups to demonstrate these rules, which involve specific Gate Card patterns and new victory conditions like capturing an L-shaped formation of gates. He later oversees special training sessions for this format with Mister Up and Mister Down to prepare brawlers for upcoming challenges.
His battle record reflects his role as a tester rather than a competitive brawler; he intentionally lost both of his anime battles to assess his opponents' strength and determination.
