Rikuya Tougou is a 14-year-old male student in Class 2-5 at Kamui Daimon Comprehensive Academy, serving as captain of Jenock's Third Platoon. He pilots the LBX model DC Offenser. Rikuya presents a cold, reserved demeanor, speaking politely yet distantly, which discourages others from approaching him. This aloofness, combined with his avoidance of active battle participation and apparent indifference to teammates' LBX units being destroyed, earns him the nickname "Ally-Killer" among students. Despite this label, Rikuya internally cares about his teammates. He accepts the nickname while showing reluctance to let others sacrifice themselves for his protection, nearly abandoning missions to prevent further losses. A driving force behind his actions is a deep-seated desire for acknowledgment from his father, Giichi Tougou, specifically wanting to prove his capability to fulfill missions independently. Key events shape Rikuya's development. During the mission to destroy the Gigant Wall, he targets one tower alongside other platoons. Later, alongside platoon leaders Catherine and Kaito Fuujin, he expresses dissatisfaction when only the First Platoon receives new LBX units after their platoons fail a decoy mission for Gunther Yzelphar. A critical moment occurs during Operation Capture Tandem Harbor. His platoon encounters the First Platoon but is attacked by Bandit. Teammate Stan shields Rikuya's LBX, resulting in Stan's unit being destroyed (LOST). Facing criticism for this loss, Rikuya continues the mission to capture the Angel Piece. Circumstances lead to Rikuya and the First Platoon capturing the enemy flag. Further development occurs during War Time. Rikuya exploits a battle between Arata and Andrei to attempt capturing their flag, but Andrei attacks his DC Offenser. Teammates Yuuji and Takao urge him to assume an Escape Stance to avoid destruction. Rikuya reluctantly complies, saving his unit while Yuuji and Takao's units are LOST. After this, Arata confronts him about losing partners. Kaito also criticizes him, using the "Ally-Killer" label and questioning how many more platoon members will sacrifice themselves. Rikuya warns Arata to stay uninvolved, dismisses Kaito's concerns about his actions harming Jenock, and leaves. A turning point involves the revelation that his DC Offenser holds one of the three Parasite Keys capable of controlling the Second World. His father, Giichi Tougou, orders him to seek help from the entire class, not just his platoon, visibly upsetting Rikuya. Later, he is nearly attacked by Rossius but is saved by teammates. That night, classmate Kouta Asahina visits Rikuya's room. Rikuya expresses despair, believing his father has abandoned him and that continuing his mission is pointless. Kouta reacts angrily, punching him and showing him the wreckage of LBX units belonging to teammates who protected him. Kouta demands to know how Rikuya can face them if he gives up. The arrival and vocal support of other Jenock students help Rikuya realize his responsibility and resolve to continue. This journey illustrates a shift from isolation to acceptance of reliance on others. Initially resistant to teamwork and burdened by the need for paternal approval, the consistent support from teammates and their willingness to protect him at great cost gradually breaks down his barriers. Kouta's intervention and the collective backing of the Jenock students solidify his understanding of his role as captain and his duty to those who believe in him, moving him away from his solitary approach. His LBX, the DC Offenser, possesses strategic importance beyond combat due to housing a Parasite Key. Its armor frame specialization focuses on the Brawler type (level 40), with Knight, Strider, and Wild types each at level 20.
