Vice-commander Garron served as second-in-command to Commander Amus within the Illumidas Earth Occupation Force. He vehemently distrusted Mr. Zone, an earthman employed by the Illumidas to develop tactics against Captain Harlock, considering him unreliable and treacherous. Garron's persistent objections to Amus' reliance on Zone contributed to Amus being stripped of command and replaced by General Krueger.
General Krueger then assigned Garron to serve directly under Mr. Zone as his subordinate, despite Garron's protests. This assignment carried the covert objective of gathering intelligence on Zone's plans and capabilities. During this duty, Garron uncovered Zone's true intentions, which threatened the Illumidas occupation force. However, he discovered this too late to prevent Zone's betrayal. Human partisans loyal to Zone subsequently imprisoned Garron.
Garron escaped confinement during the ensuing final battle. Seeking retribution against Zone for his betrayal, Garron confronted him but was shot and killed by Zone. The circumstances of his death remain ambiguous regarding whether Zone intended to kill him or if it was accidental.
