Description
Kotetsu Doumiyouji has black hair, grey eyes, and a physically fit build reflecting his martial arts training. He studies at Jokei University alongside his close companion Chihiro Kamina, sharing a brotherly bond forged at a kendo dojo run by Kotetsu's father. This dojo became Chihiro's home after a traumatic incident thirteen years prior, effectively making him an adopted member of the family.

The Great Collapse dramatically alters Kotetsu's life when his father transforms into a monstrous Diabolos after Jun Aoi triggers a supernatural resonance. Witnessing this attack on Chihiro forces Kotetsu into immediate defense, an act that awakens his latent Heroic Blood abilities. This power manifests as a katana-like weapon formed from solidified blood, classifying him within the Heroic Lineage destined to combat interdimensional threats.

Kotetsu serves as Chihiro's steadfast supporter, offering both emotional stability and combat assistance. His loyalty drives him to protect Chihiro during confrontations with adversaries like Jun Aoi and Yuri Shiraki. He participates in strategic missions for the Malthus Church, an organization opposing the Chaos faction, including operations to destroy mystical barriers sustaining Tokyo's red mist.

His combat style relies on disciplined swordsmanship augmented by his blood armament. A skirmish with Tsubaki Manazuru, a member of the Guardian State, showcases his critical thinking; he disengages upon recognizing their mutual misunderstanding about allegiances, demonstrating tactical reassessment mid-battle. Kotetsu further assists police officer Marie Kurokami and Tsubaki in investigating Jun Aoi's activities, showing willingness to collaborate beyond his core group against threats to Tokyo.

Kotetsu endures significant emotional turmoil stemming from his father's transformation and death, compounded by the physical and psychological toll of repeated battles against Diabolos and human foes. These trials strengthen his resolve, particularly as he witnesses Chihiro's internal struggles and the broader fallout of the Great Collapse. He consistently maintains his protective role within the group, acting as both combatant and moral anchor during crises.
