Description
Haruka-san is a Puchidol, a small, mysterious creature residing at the 765 Production talent agency, who bears a strong resemblance to the idol Haruka Amami. The name Haruka-san was formally bestowed by Haruka Amami herself upon the Puchidol's arrival at the agency's office. Discovered by fellow idol Iori Minase during a rainstorm at a shrine, Haruka-san is identifiable by the large ribbons adorning its head.

In terms of personality and behavior, Haruka-san is known for a deceptively friendly but unpredictable nature. It moves primarily by hopping instead of walking and is rarely seen with its mouth closed, often wearing a vacant, open-mouthed smile. Its vocalizations consist of cries such as Kakka and Vaai. While generally not malicious, Haruka-san is widely considered the most dangerous of all the Puchidols due to its destructive potential, often causing havoc without any intent to do so.

The motivation and primary driving force behind the character are simple and instinctual. Haruka-san exhibits a great fondness for playing in the rain, which it will actively seek out or try to be let out to enjoy. This desire is central to its behavior because of its unique and chaotic reaction to water.

Haruka-san's role in the story is primarily as a catalyst for comedic chaos and disaster. Its presence often turns ordinary situations, especially vacations, into calamitous events. The character serves as a consistent source of physical comedy, with its uncontrollable powers leading to office destruction and requiring intervention from other characters. It is a Puchidol that the main cast, particularly Yukiho, greatly fears, and it is rarely left unsupervised as a result.

Key relationships define its interactions with the human idols. Haruka-san lives with the idol Yayoi Takatsuki, who acts as its caretaker. The dynamic with Yayoi is significant, as Yayoi is one of the few characters who possesses a mysterious, implied method of stopping Haruka-san's rampages. Haruka Amami shares a more affectionate bond with her Puchidol counterpart, even enjoying it when Haruka-san chews on her hair. Iori Minase, who discovered Haruka-san, has a strained relationship with it, as their shared experiences have made Haruka-san a source of nightmares for the refined young idol. The character is often seen as a head pet, happily perched on the heads of idols.

Development for Haruka-san is minimal, as its nature as a mysterious lifeform remains largely static. However, there are rare, unexplained instances where it has multiplied without any exposure to water, creating a small number of copies. This remains an anomaly rather than a sign of personal growth.

Notable abilities are the defining feature of Haruka-san. Its primary and most famous ability is to multiply exponentially when doused with water at room temperature. This leads to a Zerg rush-like swarm of copies that can cause significant destruction. In addition to multiplication, water exposure can also trigger drastic and unpredictable size alteration, shrinking Haruka-san to an ant-like scale or growing it to colossal, boat-sized proportions. Large-scale versions have been used for mundane utility, such as carrying people across water. The temperature of the water is a key factor; warm water above 34 degrees Celsius does not cause multiplication. If fed after midnight, Haruka-san undergoes a dangerous behavioral shift, turning into a rampaging version of itself. Its ribbons function like a soul jar; if they are displaced or removed, Haruka-san either becomes lifeless or transforms into a dark, demonic version, which can only be reverted by fastening them again. In its non-evil state, it is also weakened by exposure to light.
