Captain Jonah commanded the Federation fast attack ship Alesia. During the Fort Casey evacuation, she ordered the Alesia to dock with the besieged station to rescue surviving Mobile Infantry, including squads A-01 and K-12. This operation extracted Captain Carmen Ibanez, relieved of command of the starship John A. Warden by Minister Carl Jenkins, and prisoner Major Henry "Hero" Varro.
Jonah demonstrated professionalism and respect toward fellow officers, acknowledging Ibanez's combat record during their interaction on the Alesia's bridge. She provided Ibanez with available data on the John A. Warden's last known coordinates, noting the signal had been lost shortly after pursuit began. Acting on directives from General Johnny Rico, Jonah redirected the Alesia to investigate the John A. Warden's disappearance.
The Alesia located and docked with the derelict John A. Warden. Jonah remained aboard her vessel during the initial boarding. After the Mobile Infantry determined the John A. Warden could not be salvaged and initiated retreat, an Arachnid Queen that had infiltrated the ship seized control of its weapon systems. The Queen fired the John A. Warden's energy weapons at point-blank range, vaporizing the Alesia and killing Jonah and her entire crew.
