Description
Tata is a male squirrel monkey Jewelpet. His fur is white on the head, body, and tail, with a gray face, hands, and feet. Teal turquoise stones form his jewel eyes, and he wears a teal-colored necktie. His Jewel Charm takes an egg shape, primarily teal with white linings, purple and darker teal crystals, and a wing-like base ornament centered around nine embedded turquoises.

He embodies the attribute of Courage, his magic granting humans bravery for extraordinary feats. Tata's personality is fun-loving and mischievous, often tipping into malicious behavior; he delights in causing trouble and exhibits poor sportsmanship. He reacts with intense anger if his pranks fail or he is captured. Tata frequently uses verbal tics like "damon" or "uki" to end sentences.

His earliest appearance occurs in the original *Jewelpet* anime (episode 32), joining a critical battle against Diana alongside humans and fellow Jewelpets. His unique "Jewel Flash" manifests as a double explosion, a trait shared with Ruby due to their simultaneous birth. He typically performs group magic here, lacking a solo Jewel Flash.

In *Jewelpet Twinkle☆* (episode 9), Tata steals Moldavite's microphone, leading protagonist Akari on a chase as part of her training. His agility makes capture difficult. After falling into mud, he becomes enraged and transforms into a giant. Akari and others use combined magic to revert him and retrieve the microphone. Post-recovery, he apologizes to Moldavite but faces punishment from Halite.

*Jewelpet Sunshine* (episode 17) features multiple squirrel monkey Jewelpets resembling Tata on a deserted island, where they temporarily enslave humans. Titana references knowing Tata but cannot identify him within the group.

Tata's most prominent role is in *Jewelpet Kira☆Deco!* (episode 12). He appears as a notorious thief in Jewel Town, pursued long-term by Sheriff Jasper. After Tata defeats Midori, Jasper intervenes and trains Midori. Tata uses magic to grow larger during a rematch but is defeated by Retsu. Arrested by Labra and Angela, he escapes prison, forcing Jasper to resume the pursuit.

In *Jewelpet Happiness* (episode 40), the Red Moon's influence possesses Tata, causing him to grow massive again. A task force of Jewelpets, humans, and Jewelina confronts him. Ruby uses magic to match his size and defeats him, burying him underground. Humans remove a mole-like object from his face, breaking the possession and restoring him to normal; he then forms his Magic Gem.

Trivia notes his turquoise jewel motif—a mineral associated with courage—and his December birthday, aligning with turquoise as a birthstone. His introductory episode parallels Ruby's debut, featuring similar personalities, shared magic levels (Acrylic), and identical special powers. Official sources sometimes vary in describing his abilities, citing "courage and strength" or "good health," though his primary function remains granting courage during adversity.
