Description
Reina Gojo begins as vice president of Odachi High School's student council. She harbors a negative view of sumo wrestling, deeming it uncool, and develops a grudge against Hinomaru Ushio after he defeats her older brother Yuma Gojo in a duel. This motivates her active opposition to the school's sumo club, including attempting to manipulate rules against Hinomaru during his exhibition match against Chihiro Kunisaki.

Her perspective shifts after witnessing sumo matches firsthand. Observing the raw intensity and skill displayed, particularly Hinomaru's resilience and technique, sparks an appreciation for the sport's physical and strategic depth. This transforms her opposition into involvement, leading her to become one of the sumo club's managers alongside Chizuko Hori. Her initial motivation includes supporting her brother Yuma, reflecting a noted brother complex.

As manager, Reina assists with club logistics and morale. She leverages her student council position to secure additional funding and actively participates in training sessions. Her competitive nature surfaces in interactions, such as winning an impromptu wrestling match against fellow manager Chizuko. She deepens her understanding of sumo over time while acknowledging gaps in her knowledge, like the professional prohibition against rikishi driving.

After high school, Reina attends university while maintaining her relationship with Hinomaru. She becomes more assertive in expressing her opinions to him, encouraging him to embrace vulnerability. Her support extends to practical assistance, teaching him technology for daily tasks and aiding the Shibakiyama stable by facilitating hospital visits for injured wrestlers.

Reina and Hinomaru marry after he wins a professional tournament, taking his surname to become Reina Ushio. They initially live apart while she completes her degree. As an adult, she adopts a more mature appearance featuring layered hair and feminine attire, though retains her spirited personality. Her family includes her mother Sayuri Gojo, brothers Hirotsugu and Yuma, and her husband Hinomaru.

Reina celebrates her birthday on June 17th, stands 167 cm tall, and weighs 51 kg. She has light brown eyes and auburn/blonde hair. Her name meanings reflect themes of gratitude ("Reina") and light ("Gojo"). She enjoys shopping and ranked third in a popularity poll.
