Ryofu Housen is a 17-year-old female fighter from Rakuyo High School, born on October 28th. She possesses a ruddy complexion and seafoam green hair, usually styled in pigtails. Her physical measurements are 91-58-90. She typically wears the Rakuyo school uniform—a red blazer and skirt with brown shoes—though she often forgoes the white shirt and tie underneath, exposing cleavage, and pairs the outfit with knee-high socks. Known for her promiscuous personality and preference for skimpy clothing, Ryofu is also a powerful combatant skilled in generating chi-blasts. She suffers from a terminal illness that shortens her lifespan and diminishes her abilities, driving her to resist both her fate and sickness. Despite her provocative behavior, such as taking advantage of Shimei Ryomou or making suggestive comments about enjoying contact with Saji, she demonstrates courage and loyalty to her friends. Ryofu deeply loves her childhood friend and lover, Koudai Chinkyuu. When Chinkyuu is raped and beaten by Rakuyo personnel, specifically Chizen Rikaku, Ryofu avenges them by killing Rikaku. She also shows concern for Ryomou, advising her to care for Saji in light of her own impending death. In the manga, Ryofu enjoys teasing Ryomou and holds genuine affection for both Saji and Chinkyuu. Acting as a spy, she develops real friendships with Saji and Ryomou. Aware of her limited time, she entrusts Ryomou with the true Sovereign's Seal, stolen from Chuuei Toutaku, and declares Hakufu Sonsaku the rightful ruler. After rescuing Chinkyuu from a brutal assault related to a fake Sovereign's Seal, Ryofu takes them to the hospital. Following a farewell, she engages in a final battle against Moutoku Sousou but collapses due to her illness during the fight with Myousai Kakouen. Chinkyuu intervenes, and they commit double suicide using a forbidden technique to destroy their magatama, hoping to be reincarnated not as fighters. In the anime, Ryofu spares Saji despite orders from Toutaku to kill him. She defeats and sexually toys with Ryomou, urging her to join the Great Fighters Tournament. After rebelling against Rakuyo with Chinkyuu, she returns upon learning of Chinkyuu's critical condition and attacks their assailants. Following Chinkyuu's death, she confronts Toutaku but is forced to battle Hakufu Sonsaku, losing when Hakufu enters a dragon state. Defying fate, she uses a technique from her master to kill both herself and Toutaku. Ryofu is regarded as the strongest female Toushi in the Kanto region in both manga and anime, though her illness severely limits her power. Without it, she could easily defeat opponents like Toukaku and Kakouen, and is considered more powerful than Unchou Kan-u or Shiryuu Chou-un. A subplot involving rape by Saji and a love-hate relationship appears only in the English adaptation of the manga and is absent from the original Japanese version.
