Description
Referred to as "Maître" (French for "Master" or "Teacher"), this young man rents a room in Tokyo with a widow and her daughter. He shares a longstanding friendship with K, a monk battling depression. Hoping to support his friend, Maître invites K to live with them. This act ignites conflict when K develops romantic feelings for the widow's daughter.

Maître perceives K's feelings as a profound betrayal, fracturing their friendship. The narrative unfolds across two episodes offering dual perspectives. The first episode presents events through Maître's viewpoint, detailing his escalating jealousy and sense of betrayal as he observes interactions between K and the daughter. The second episode revisits the same events from K's perspective, revealing the daughter initiated romantic advances toward K, complicating Maître's assumptions.

Maître's character arc traces his initial compassion for K deteriorating into intense resentment and alienation fueled by the love triangle. His actions and emotional responses embody themes of possessiveness, misinterpretation, and the fragility of trust.
