Fuyutoki Kureha serves as the steward of the Giou Clan's Kamakura residence and personal butler to Takashirou Giou. His family, top-level onmyōji practitioners of esoteric cosmology and divination, has served the Giou clan for generations. Instructed from childhood to dedicate his life to Takashirou with the directive to "serve the latter until you die," Fuyutoki's path was set early.
During their first childhood meeting, Takashirou praised Fuyutoki's name as symbolizing "the hope after a long and cold winter, when spring finally comes." Fuyutoki perceived these words as carrying envy and lamentation over Takashirou's own constrained existence. Witnessing Takashirou's perspective on freedom and time profoundly shaped Fuyutoki, solidifying his resolve to remain by his side indefinitely.
Fuyutoki demonstrates unwavering loyalty and deep admiration for Takashirou, acknowledging him as the person he loves. Intimately aware of the burdens Takashirou endures as clan leader, Fuyutoki's dedication has evolved into a personal desire to alleviate his suffering. He laments that he can only "pray" for him and expresses a wish to "release" him from what he describes as a "frozen prison of time."
He has a younger sister, Aya Kureha, who works at the Giou Clan's primary operational base, the Twilight Mansion. Physically, Fuyutoki is an adult male with black hair cut to ear length, black eyes, and typically wears glasses consistent with his butler role.
