TV-Series
Description
Yūki Mikogami is a biologist and inventor who created the Kirumin devices to enable users to transform into animals or adopt animal-themed costumes with enhanced abilities. This research into interspecies communication, inspired by Misa Hatori's mother, aimed to prove fundamental similarities across all living organisms.

During experiments with the Turtle Kirumin, Yūki accidentally exceeded the devices' 99-minute transformation limit. This violation trapped him permanently in his turtle form, stripping him of human consciousness and identity. His daughter-in-law, Haruka Mikogami, subsequently concealed the remaining Kirumins to prevent further accidents. She cared for Yūki in his turtle state as a pet, nicknaming him "Doctor."

As "Doctor," Yūki retained limited awareness and occasionally attempted to assist the protagonists, such as trying to guide Tamao Kijima to a video revealing the Kirumins' secrets before technical issues intervened. His trapped state also indirectly fueled conflict with antagonist Kyousuke Futatsugi, a former colleague embittered by professional and romantic rivalries with Yūki's family.

Yūki remained in this condition until the series finale. His granddaughters, Riko, Rimu, and Nagisa Mikogami, discovered his true identity. By reconnecting him to his human memories and emotions, they reversed the transformation, restoring him to his original human form moments before the series concluded.

The Turtle Kirumin remained unique, as Yūki's prolonged transformation prevented its use or appearance by any other character. His work established the Kirumins' core mechanics, including the 99-minute limitation and the Kirubara effect, which enables evolutionary power-ups for new animal forms.
